Orofacial myofunctional therapy focuses on improving the way the muscles of the mouth, face, and tongue work together. Heather provides individualized care designed around each client's symptoms, functional concerns, and goals.
Start with a brief conversation about your concerns, symptoms, and goals. This initial consultation can help determine whether a comprehensive myofunctional evaluation may be appropriate.
A detailed evaluation looks at breathing patterns, tongue posture and mobility, swallowing, oral habits, facial muscle function, and other factors that may be contributing to symptoms or dysfunction.
Individualized therapy programs use targeted exercises and functional retraining based on the findings of your evaluation. Programs are customized to your needs, goals, and progress.
Support for persistent oral habits such as thumb sucking, pacifier use, nail biting, and other patterns that may affect oral development and function.
Myofunctional therapy may be used before and after a frenectomy to help prepare the oral muscles for improved function and support rehabilitation following the procedure.
The concerns below may be associated with orofacial dysfunction. Myofunctional therapy may help support healthier function — it does not diagnose or cure medical conditions.
Myofunctional therapy uses personalized exercises and functional retraining to help improve patterns involving the tongue, lips, jaw, breathing, and swallowing.
